25th January 2008

We were up very early this morning to visit the Sukhothai Historical Park, about an hour and a half bus ride from Phitsanulok. It’s a beautifully maintained 3km by 3km green space full of lakes with little bridges leading to Buddhas – you pick up a bike from the hire place over the road and scoot about the place to your heart’s content.

Not really much to describe after all that – I mean, don’t get wrong, it’s a great collection of temples in various states of decays surrounded by very pleasant greenery and it makes for a very enjoyable couple of hours cycling but I’m already a long way into the “seen one, seen ‘em all” feeling about Wats. This was a good place to finish up with them though, I’ll give it that.
